Westchester Co. Sheriffs Force - DPS - new condition Westchester Co. Sheriffs Dept. - issued early 1970's, possibly late 60's and used until merger with Westchester County Parkway Police in 1979 - used condition Westchester Co. Sheriff - DPS - new condition - The Westchester Co. Department of Public Safety is the county-level law enforcement agency responsible for protecting the safety and security of residents, workers, and visitors throughout Westchester County. It was created in 1979 when the Westchester County Sheriff’s Department merged with the Westchester County Parkway Police. Wyoming Co. Sheriffs Dept. Wyoming Co. Office of the Sheriff- worn during the 1990s -? - new condition Wyoming Co. Sheriffs Office - new condition Yates Co. Sheriff - worn 1965 until 1970 - used condition Yates Co. Sheriffs Dept. - worn in the 1970s and 1980s - new condition Yates Co. Office of Sheriff - 2000 - new condition - The arrow-shaped patch shows the county seal in the center of a seven-pointed star. On it are grapes, apples and flowering buckwheat. The blue background depicts Keuka, Canandaigua and Seneca lakes and includes symbols of higher education, water recreation, agriculture and rural commerce. Yates Co. Office of Sheriff - Dispatcher - new condition - A Dispatcher works in the Sheriff’s Office communications center, answering 911 and non-emergency calls and determining the nature and priority of each incident. Dispatchers then coordinate and send the appropriate emergency responders such as sheriff’s deputies, fire departments, and medical units to the scene. Yates Co. Office of Sheriff - Corrections - new condition - The jail opened in 1977 and has a maximum capacity of 61 inmates with full capacity at 57 due to classification standards. The design of the Jail is known as Linear Design. This means that the inmates are placed in individual cells with a open area in front of the cells called a Bull Pen Area. The jail consists of seven cell blocks capable of housing four inmates, two cell blocks capable of housing two inmates, four Isolation cells, a Dormitory with the capability of housing nineteen inmates and a Trusty Dormitory capable of housing six inmates.
