Yates Co. Office of Sheriff - 2000 - new condition - The arrow-shaped patch shows the county seal in the center of a seven-pointed star. On it are grapes, apples and flowering buckwheat. The blue background depicts Keuka, Canandaigua and Seneca lakes and includes symbols of higher education, water recreation, agriculture and rural commerce.

Yates Co. Office of Sheriff - Corrections - new condition - The jail opened in 1977 and has a maximum capacity of 61 inmates with full capacity at 57 due to classification standards. The design of the Jail is known as Linear Design. This means that the inmates are placed in individual cells with a open area in front of the cells called a Bull Pen Area. The jail consists of seven cell blocks capable of housing four inmates, two cell blocks capable of housing two inmates, four Isolation cells, a Dormitory with the capability of housing nineteen inmates and a Trusty Dormitory capable of housing six inmates.
