The primary function of the jail is to try and commit individuals and then transfer them to a partner facility where they will appear for a court date. No person is housed overnight at the Passaic County Jail. Passaic County has entered into a shared services agreement with Bergen County and Hudson County for the care, custody and control of its inmates. Male inmates are transferred to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, NJ. All female inmates at the Passaic County Jail are transferred to the Hudson County Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in Kearny, NJ. |
