Explorers receive training in LE procedures, report writing, defensive tactics, CPR, and first aid, and they also have opportunities to take part in ride‑alongs with officers, sit‑alongs with dispatchers, volunteer at community events, and compete in state Explorer competitions. The program has been active since 1976 and meets regularly through the school year and summer months.
