Osage Co Sheriffs Dept. - new condition - the sheriff's office was established in 1907. The first sheriff was J.T. Bird, who served from 1907 to 1910. The longest serving Sheriff was George Wayman, who served as sheriff from 1965 zo 1989. Osage Co. is the largest county in Oklahoma and the second largest county in the US. The county is larger then the state of Rhode Island.
